WBS Services
WBS can provide counselling and support to help you work through mourning the loss of someone close to you.

To arrange a visit by a support volunteer telephone 01925 631516.

If you have arranged an appointment but then find it is not convenient, please telephone us, giving as much notice as possible (preferably at least 24 hours).

There is no charge for our service. However, should you wish to make a donation to our work it would be greatly appreciated, but it is by no means obligatory.

You can also come along for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee at The Coffee House, Bold Street Methodist Church. A bereavement support volunteer is present every Saturday morning between 11am and 12.30pm.

Starting where the individual is
Different people have different needs and WBS tries to respond with services that are individual flexible and sensitive to what the client is seeking. The range of services we currently offer are:

  • Help at any time after a bereavement — whether it happened yesterday or weeks, months or years ago
  • The choice of contacting our service by letter, email or telephone
  • Talking to someone by ringing the central Helpline
  • One-to-one support from trained volunteers
  • A drop-in centre held on Saturday with trained volunteers
